An MOT failure and given to the club to use as a feature to dive on, the transit van spent much time undergoing drastic surgery to make it both safe to dive and to clean out all fluids that may cause contamination of the reservoir. The transit van had many barrels put in it and tied to the side and was towed out to its present position in 1988. When the time came to sink the van, the barrels around the front were cut free leaving several stuck very firm in the back. This caused the front to sink with just the rear doors above the water. Nobody wanted to go near, frightened the remaining barrels would burst free. With a great explosion they eventually freed and the van sank. On the following reccy dive it reported that the nose was almost completely buried which is how it can be seen today. The van to dive is at around 12M, quite open, with a large hole cut into the roof, and is very easy to swim through. There still remains barrels strewn around used to move the van.
