The marker post
This presumably has been in the reservoir since its existence when the reservoir was used to refill the canal. The Iron numbers can still be seen which used to mark the level of the reservoir. The post is now fairly rotten with the top section totally missing and now only extending to about 3M below the surface. The base of the post is at around 8m.
