Ford Pop The old car, which is in fact a Ford Popular, were sunk in the reservoir in 1975 by another diving club. This was well before the rope course was as extensive as it is today, and could only be found by underwater navigation. Unfortunately many years passed with no-one able to find the car and was only occasionally found by divers getting completely lost !!, nobody could find it on demand. The rope course originally ran from the sub to the old van, missing the old car, by about 15 meters. On one occasion the car was found by a diver with a line, who tied on and swam west, came across the old rope course and connected the two.

Marina One of your granddad’s old favourites mmm !

Moggy Van  This van must have been in the reservoir for many years, it is fairly rotten but still intact. It is believed to be an old Morris Minor van, talked about many times but very hard to find. In 1988 it was found again and incorporated into the rope course at which time only extended from the nose cone out to the sub. It is possible to swim through the van as all the doors are open. The van is at around 12m depth and at the bottom of the slope up to the side of the reservoir

Transit Van Follow the story here... Follow the story of a team of dedicated divers moving and sinking the Transit
