About Our Club

Dudley Dolphin BSAC Club

The Dudley Dolphin BSAC is a members club based in the UK Midlands and have been in existence since 1964. We are one of a very few fortunate inland clubs to have our own all year round dive site, Netherton reservoir. The club meets every Friday evening and dives every Sunday morning. We are an active club with away dives arranged throughout the year, supporting many aspects of diving. We always welcome other divers whether beginners or experienced, just visiting or looking to join.

Reservoir Pic Our Rezza!

Lodge Farm ( Netherton ) reservoir is a man made 14 acre pool with a depth of around 15 meters. There is much fish life plus various relics of old cars and boats etc.. deposited over the many years of existence. Over these years we have put in place an extensive rope course which links up the various sites of interest. We also have training platforms at various depths and even an inverted tank where you can 'surface' 10 meters down.

The reservoir is large and normally takes several visits, and a lot of energy, to see all the sights. We don't have the best 'viz' in the land but do have one of the most interesting waters.

Facilities at the 'Rezza' are quite palatial, that is of course relative to many U.K.. dive sites, we have men's and ladies changing rooms with showers, clubhouse with bar and kitchen, waterside car spaces for unloading gear, ample car parking and last but not least our own compressor. Food and drinks are sometimes  available for both breakfasts and night-dives, and of course our own licensed bar. All in all we reckon we've got it made!.

How to Find us

The club and reservoir is off Highbridge Road, Netherton near Dudley, West Midlands, about 1 mile from the Merry Hill shopping centre. Off the island along Pedmore road, Hurst Lane leads onto Highbridge Road, up a fairly steep hill a few hundred meters there is a side track on the right, which runs around the pool to the clubhouse and car park on the far side. If you reach the narrow bridge traffic lights you've gone too far, look to your right and you'll see the reservoir and where to go.

Want a go ?

We welcome visiting qualified divers to our club, but we sometimes have problems with numbers. Therefore to help us stop the Rezza turning into diver soup, please phone first or turn up on a prior Friday or Sunday.

If you prefer please e-mail us with details of how many want to come etc., we'll arrange a date and get back to you ASAP.

The current charges are £2-50 a dive plus £2-00 per fill.

Our club night is Fridays, we start at the Dudley Leisure Centre at around 6:45pm (In the pool 7pm till 8pm) for training and refresher sessions. From the baths we move up to the clubhouse at around 8:30pm. Anyone interested may turn up at the clubhouse have a chat at the bar and maybe arrange a dive, or even how to join our very active club.

If you do want to just turn up on a Sunday morning, you will have to be early. Depending on the time of year we only have the water from 8-00am 'till mid/late morning, followed by a few hours in the club bar.

If you just want to take a look with the family, or others who would rather not, then don't forget we are only half a mile from the Merry Hill shopping centre which is the second (or maybe the third) largest shopping centre’s in Europe. Merry Hill is open late on Fridays, till 8-00pm and Sunday mornings from 11-00am.

Want to join ?
